Don't Miss on Tuesday March 22, 2016

3/23/16 UPDATE: A fine show last evening. In case you missed it here is the "then and now" Bloomfield Morris Canal pictures. (Sorry you won't get Mr. Rockwell's narration until next show.)

The Historical Society of Bloomfield is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Morris Canal in Bloomfield March 22, 7:30 PM at the Bloomfield High School Auditorium (use the auditorium entrance in the historic 1911 High School building on Broad Street)
This slide show of historic maps and photographs explores why the canal was important to the development of Bloomfield, why it is an important historic resource today, what remains of the canal, and recent developments to interpret and preserve the canal as part of the State wide Morris Canal Greenway effort.
This program was developed by Historical Society Trustee, Rich Rockwell for Bloomfield’s Bicentennial in 2012 and has been updated and enhanced with participation from the Bloomfield Recreation Department and the Morris Canal Greenway Committee in celebration of the Historical Society of Bloomfield’s 50th anniversary.
The Morris Canal has been on the State and National Registers of Historic Places since 1974 and the section in Bloomfield was recently designated Morris Canal Greenway by the Town.
Parking is available in the High School parking lot behind the High School on State Street and in the School Administration Building lot on the corner of Broad Street and Belleville Avenue.
